Day-by-Day Itinerary

Start your Morocco trip in Casablanca, the country’s modern city by the Atlantic. Visit the famous Hassan II Mosque with its tall minaret and sea views. Walk along the Corniche, enjoy the ocean breeze, and see Mohammed V Square or Rick’s Café if time allows. Overnight in Casablanca.

Drive to Volubilis, the Roman ruins listed by UNESCO. Explore mosaics, arches, and temples from ancient times. Continue to Meknes, once an imperial city, to see Bab Mansour Gate, old stables, and Moulay Ismail’s mausoleum. By evening, reach Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital.

Spend a full day exploring Fes with a local guide. Visit the Royal Palace Gate, the Jewish quarter Mellah, and Borj Sud fortress for panoramic views. Discover pottery at the Ceramic School, then walk inside the UNESCO Medina to see Al-Attarine Madrasa, the world’s oldest university Al Quaraouiyine, and the colorful leather tanneries.

Travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop at Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, and meet monkeys in the Cedar Forest. Enjoy the views of Ziz Valley before reaching Erfoud, famous for fossils. At Merzouga, ride camels across the dunes of Erg Chebbi and spend the night in a desert camp with dinner, music, and stars.

Wake up in the Sahara and then head to Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with high cliffs and a river at the bottom. Walk and take photos before continuing to the Dades Valley, known for its kasbahs, green fields, and Monkey Fingers rock formations. Overnight in a hotel inside the valley.

Drive along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and stop in Ouarzazate, known as Morocco’s Hollywood. Visit the UNESCO Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a fortress seen in many movies. Cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi nTichka Pass with stunning views. Arrive in Marrakech by evening to end the tour.
